Justine Sakurai is currently teaching at Sandringham College and has been teaching in the VCAL program for over 9 years, loving every minute of it. Justine advocates a hands-on practical approach to the teaching and learning of numeracy and encourages her students to be independent thinkers and doers. She thinks a class that motivates students with physical components is more likely to encourage long term memory of key concepts. Justine applies current knowledge and science of teenage brain development to her teaching methodology. Recently, Justine has co-written the new VCAL Numeracy units.
