Members and friends of VALA
are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting
to be held by Zoom on
Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 5:00pm.

Voting will be limited to financial members – students, individuals and staff of organisations and unlimited members.

The purpose of the meeting is to

1.    Confirm the minutes of the 2019 AGM  held on Thursday Oct 10, 2019, 6.30pm, Jasper Hotel, 489 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne

2.    Receive reports on the activities of the 2019-2020 year.

3.    Consider a special resolution

‘Moved that the entire document ‘2020 VALA Proposed Rules of the Association’ (Constitution) based on the Model Rules of Consumer Affairs (Victoria) replace all of the existing Rules’.

The intention is to bring the Rules into alignment with current recommended practice and replace the Rules which have been in place since 2008. Once passed by the AGM, the proposed Rules will then be lodged with Consumer Affairs for acceptance. The proposed Rules become effective when accepted by Consumer Affairs.

The motion has been endorsed by the VALA Committee of Management.

4.    Elect the officers of the Association – All positions become vacant at the AGM

Voting is available to one representative of each financial member organisation or financial individual members.

  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Six general members of the committee.

5.    Appoint the auditor
